Simplistic in its repetitiveness yet complicated, sophisticated and clearly under the influence of Philp Glass, Smith weaves counter-rhythms and emotive melody with unique instrumentation.

Piano, strings and the zesty twang of middle eastern stringed instruments suggest further inspiration has been taken from world music while Smith's love of Eric Satie's gnossiennes, looks to have clearly played a big part in the initial stages of the composition, the piano being the primary instrument.

Smith's previous and more notable experience as a guitar-slinging, singer-songwriter goes undetected here and his boogie-woogie and New Orleans piano stylings are non-existent. Furthermore, his soul-tinged vocals won't be found in this cinematic, surreal world.
